The Summer House by Judith Benzer Architektur is built in the vast openness of the fields of Southern Burgenland, Austria. The tall structure resembles a country barn as its simple shape reaches towards the sky giving it an ethereal aesthetic. While the exterior is composed out of planks of larch wood, the simple outline of the house creates a sharp silhouette against the Austrian sky. Elongated panel windows can be opened to allow sun to enter the home during the summer while creating shade over the outdoor deck and may be closed off during the harsh winter months. A minimalist contemporary interior transitions and balances the rustic feel of the exterior of the home. [via designboom] View in gallery View in gallery View in gallery
